EVENT : Rally on a social issues

Women Development Cell in association with National Social Service Unit of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad (E) had organised a Rally on 'Social Issues on Women' as on 6th February, 2023. Various topics such as Female Foeticide, Violence against Women, Anti Dowry, save girl child, De addiction, related issues were highlighted in the form of posters presented by our students. The rally was really effective as it was appreciated by the residents, local governing body as well the residents. Overall 100 students including 27 members of Women Development Cell were present for the rally.

EVENT : Self Made Rakhi Exhibition Cum Sale

The Women Development Cell of College deganized Self Made Rakhi Exhibition Cum Sale on the August 222 Monday 11.00 1.000 round for This event showed various kinds of kis and diment an inem like wall hangings, simple sculptures uning the mould etc. & Groups including 4 members in a group including 4 members in each group participated.

It was encounging to see students extending for suppe sowards this cause by buying rakhi and souvenirs. They sold these hand-made in the stalls. The exhibition was successful as most of the niks were sold. This immense suppe fraud inspired College to continue Bosting such events in future.

EVENT : Poster Making Competition

To bring out the creative expression of students and to gauge their knowledge and awareness on impact of Population, Women Development Cell and N.S.S unit of Nirmala College of Commerce had organised Poster Making Competition on theme "Impact of Population Explosion on Economy" on 18th July 2022, Monday in Block no.04 at 10.30 am to 11.30 am.

25 students displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters on the given topics.

EVENT : Extempore Competition

The Women Development Cell  organized extempore competition on 25th February,2022. A total of 22 students participated in the competition. All the participants showed immense interest in the competition. They gave a great insight about the famous women in India. The competition was successful.

EVENT : Mask Making Competition

A “Mask Making Competition” was organized on Tuesday, 21st December,2021 by Women Development Cell virtually.Through this competition, awareness about mask was spread. A total of 19  students participated in the competition. Students actively participated in the competition and made their respective masks. Overall, the competition was a great success.

 

EVENT : Quiz Competition on Women Empowerment

Women Development Cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad (E) had organized a Quiz Competition on Women Empowerment as on 13th October, 2021. A total of  119 students took part in the competition.A golden opportunity for all the students to explore and improvise their general knowledge skills. The link was sent on the respective group accordingly and was active for a time span of fifteen minutes. Students actively participated in the competition and winners were being declared.

EVENT : E-poster making competition on the topic “Crime Against Women”

Women Development Cell in association with National Social Service Unit of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad (E) had organised a E-poster making competition on the topic “Crime Against Women”30thSeptember, 2021 at 11 am on zoom platform. A total of 45 students submitted the google form and  based on the topic of Social Issues. This competition was arranged so as the talent of the students could be showcased accordingly. Students took active interest in the event and made this event successful.

 

 

EVENT : Webinar on Gender Sensitization

Women Development Cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad (E) had organised a webinar on Gender Sensitization on 27th August, 2021 at 11.00 am on zoom platform.A total of 51 students were part of the webinar.The speaker of the webinar gave an in-detailed explanation about the issues related to Gender Sensitization. One of the important thing Adv. Niranjani Shetty spoke about was “Gender sensitivity is not about pitting women against men. It helps them determine which assumptions in matters of gender are valid and which are stereotyped generalizations”. Students took active interest in the webinar and they got to learn more about Gender Sensitization.

EVENT : Road Rally on “Social Issues on Women”

Women Development Cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad(E) had organized a rally on “Social Issues on Women” as on 28thJanuary, 2020. Various topics such as Female Foeticide, Violence against Women, Anti Dowry, Save Girl Child related issues were highlighted in the form of posters presented by our students. The rally was effective as it was appreciated by the residents, local governing body as well the residents. Overall 150 students including 27 members of Women Development Cell were present for the rally.

EVENT : Seminar on Personal Hygiene

Women development cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad (E) had organised a seminar on ‘Personal Hygiene’ which was organised by ‘Rexona Confidence Academy’ as on 6thJanuary 2020. This seminar was organised so as to create awareness about the hygiene level to be maintained by the girls. Overall 41 students were present for the seminar.

 

EVENT : Street Play on Violence against Women

Women development cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad (E) had conducted a Street Play on Violence against Women which was organised on 28thSeptember, 2019 at 11.30 am. This street play was organised to provide information about various social issues of women welfare for the betterment of girl’s students, to provide information about various topics such as female foeticide, anti dowry etc. Street Play was really an effective and awareness was created amongst the students. 30 students were present overall.

EVENT : Seminar on Gender Discrimination

Women Development Cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad(E) had organized a seminar on Gender Discrimination which was conducted by Ms. Swati Rane on 19thSeptember, 2019 at 11:30am. This seminar was organized to provide information about various social issues of women welfare for the betterment of girls students and to take preventive steps against the contemporary issues like sexual harassment. 25 students were present for the workshop taking hands on experience

 

 

EVENT : Workshop of Self Defence

Women Development Cell of Nirmala College of Commerce, Malad(E) had organized a workshop on Self Defence which was conducted by Mr. Pradeep Yadav on 26thAugust 2019 at 11:00am. This workshop was organized to provide platform around issues of common interest of women welfare for the betterment of girl’s students and to take preventive steps against the contemporary issues like sexual harassment. 34 students were present for the workshop taking hands on experience

EVENT : Workshop on Self Defence

Women’s self- defence training aims to arm women with the skills to avoid interrupt and resist assault. To habituate the students with the idea of self defence, Women Development Cell had organised a workshop on self defence on 1st October, 2018. The basic training of Judo-karate, Kick boxing was provided to the students to make them self-reliant. The trainers also initiated the students with 16 weapon concept. The different techniques, side hammer, front face, side kick etc. were also taught. The aim of the workshop was to teach the female student to become empowered by realizing and developing their own strength, courage and physical power

EVENT : Road Rally

On 30thAugust, 2018 women development cell had organised a road rally to draw attention of mass towards women related issues. The basic purpose was to challenge stereotype pattern of society and assist them to recognise the immense role of women in its complete development. Student participated whole heartedly in this event and conveyed the message by holding banners and calling out slogans.

EVENT : Gender Sensitization

The need for gender sensitivity has been felt and realised through times immemorial and to familiarise the students with this concept Women Development Cell had organised a seminar on “Gender Sensitization” on 21stAugust, 2018. In the seminar the root causes for gender discrimination and ways to tackle them were discussed. The speaker also informed the students about various registered forums and their activities which practically help to implement the concept of gender equality.
